Addressing growing incidence of child rights violation is one of the India’s development priorities. Putting in place multiple legislatives frameworks, institutions coupled with policy instrument is a progressive step to address children multiple vulnerabilities. SMVM is committed to protect and safeguard the rights of children through effective implementation of the policy instruments, mobilizing families and communities for providing alternative care and support and provide direct services to at risk children.
Objectives
• Work with communities and families to reduce vulnerabilities of children
• Generate gender disaggregated data on child vulnerability and develop case management plans
• Offer technical support to district agencies, community institutions for taking up child protection measures
• Draw linkages with various child protection networks to for preventing and responding to child rights abuse

• Community-based programme to offer child protection services
• Child Care Institutions for girls under Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act
Activities
• The community cadre empowered to work with VLCPC members resulting in a stronger child protection mechanism
• Establish case management system for children to receive better services
• Link children and families with social security schemes
• Formulate an Individual Care Plan for each child based on understanding the child‘s background, interest and need
• Offer counseling support, education inputs through digital class, vocational training to children as part of rehabilitation plan
